The Garden Route Birds of Prey Rehab Centre run by falconers Bertus and Lizette Beukes is a rehabilitation centre for birds of prey in George on the Garden Route of South Africa. Their mission is to educate the public and specifically the youth on the importance of birds of prey. They want to create a passion to be educated amongst the public in the role of these magnificent birds, the rehabilitation, conservation and release. The Garden Route Birds of Prey Rehab Centre operates under the rules and regulations laid down by Cape Nature Conservation.
Family Friendly Attraction in George
A visit to the Garden Route Birds of Prey Rehab Centre is a great family friendly attraction. Avid birders, people looking for things to do in the area and young children with inquisitive minds will all find a visit to this rehab centre extremely educational and interesting. The centre does rehabilitation of all raptors and you will learn more about the rescue, rehabilitation and conservation of falcons, eagles and owls. During your visit to the centre your guide will introduce you to approximately 19 different raptors. The centre has a constant flow of birds with their rescue, rehabilitation and release program.
Garden Route Birds of Prey Rehab Centre is located at the Garden Route Botanical Garden at the top of Caledon Street in George. The centre is wheelchair friendly and can thus also accommodate parents with babies and toddlers in prams.
Individuals, families and groups are all welcome to visit the centre. School groups are also catered for.
The entry fee includes a guided tour of Garden Route Birds of Prey Rehab Centre plus admission to the Botanical Garden.

- Children under 12: R50 per person
- Children under 6: Free
The entrance fee helps towards rehabilitating the sick, weak, injured or young birds.

Handling of some of the resident birds by visitors can be arranged at an additional cost.

The Garden Route Birds of Prey Rehab Centre is a non-profit organization. Visitors to the centre aid in the generation of income for the rehabilitation, conservation and release they do.
